Let’s talk about CHANGE.
It’s the one thing that is certain to happen.
We change as we age.
Our jobs may change.
Our family and friendships may change.
BUT God remains the same.
My husband, Aaron, and I are southbound after lots of prayers, seeking Gods will, and listening to the Holy Spirits leading.
This weekend, we are Tennessee bound and I am chock full of bittersweet emotions. If you follow Soul Revival in our VIP Group on Facebook, you may have seen a video I did talking about this move.
I am originally from Athens, Ga (with a year long stint in OKC), and a majority of my family resides in Tennessee and Georgia. I had such a HARD time when I moved to Ohio. I described it as my wilderness time (y’all know when Jesus was in the wilderness…being tempted by the Devil…) well, when I came here I experienced loneliness and homesickness for my family and friends like never before. Aaron and I sought out a church home to be a part of. And just as a side note – if you don’t have a church home – be BRAVE and go find one! I know it takes a lot to put yourself out there, but the friendships that you will make are so so good.
Getting plugged in to church and doing life with other sinners helped bring us closer together in our marriage. We started volunteering with outreach suppers, youth group, we went on a missions trip to Nicaragua, and I later joined a women’s bible study in our town.
Y’ALL. God knows exactly what he’s doing.
In the midst of my wilderness and change, I got so much closer to Christ. Without my time in Ohio, I would not be the person that I am today. God made me brave and I chose to follow him, regardless of how I may have wanted to run and hide. Or go home. A good friend of mine once told me, “Brooke, you cannot GROW if you do not have CHANGE.” That is something that has stuck to me and reassured me that God has GOT this. He is on his throne, he knows every move that we will make even before we make it, and STILL he wants so much good for us.
So, here we go again with another CHANGE.
It’s scary and exciting and fun all wrapped up into one.
I know God is leading us and I cannot wait to see how he moves in this season and I am grateful to this calling he has placed in our hearts.
To our amazing customers in Ohio, we love you and will see you again down the road. Embrace the change and hold on. God’s got you, girl.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
